Expect long travel times in the archipelago traffic as long as the strike continues. No tours to some islands are set – but bridges.

Merchant Marine Officers’ Association thanked on Sunday against the mediators bid – and sjöbefälens strike continues.

the strike is now soon going for a week affecting about 11,000 passengers traveling from the islands of Gothenburg archipelago and those traveling by ferry across the river.

– the traveling continues, , but it takes longer, an hour out to all the islands, says Bertil Pevantus, president of Styrsöbolaget.

because of the strike comes to new schedules in the southern archipelago from Monday, since all fast commit has been canceled tours on because of the strike. The public is invited to visit Styrsöbolaget site to check schedules. Västtrafik not update the Travel Planner during a strike.

The boats that are in traffic is Vesta, Ylva and Silvertärnan.

– The tours go to all the islands, but some bridges have been set, says Bertil Pevantus.

on Styrsöbolaget have in common with the other ferry services on the West Coast tariff agreement and not individual salaries, just like the Merchant Marine Officers’ Association wants.

But Bertil Pevantus notes that the new agreement that the union wants would provide increased wage of ten to twelve percent.

From the Merchant Marine Officers ‘Association argued that the high wage increases as employers’ organization ALMEGA refers is not correct.

– It’s not about salary increases, we are fighting for not getting pay cut or wage dumping bluntly says Mats Jäderland, CEO of Merchant Marine Officers’ Association.

the employers want to turn together three existing agreement on various ferry companies to a common agreement, and which selects ALMEGA contract with the minimum wage, according to Merchant Marine Officers’ Association.

– I can understand that employers who currently have tariff wages, may feel that this strike is unfair. But it is ALMEGA that drives the issue of individual very hard, says Mats Jäderland.

Right now, the parties have each gone home, but the mediators are still involved.

In the Stockholm area are 70 boats in Waxholmsbolaget and Djurgårdsfärjorna involved in the strike.

If the parties can not agree, the strike will be expanded in the Stockholm area April 26, when Strömmas subcontractors will also be covered. This is because the Stream inserting other boats to cover up the boats were on strike.

– We see this as a clear case of strike-breaking, says Mats Jäderland.
