Talentum wants to lay off 19 of 47 – Västerbotten Courier

The media house Talentum wants to replace four chief editors with a publisher and lay off 19 of 47 editorial staff people, writes journalist.

The proposal was presented during Negotiations week and the reason is the need to save money. Eddie Pröckl, chairman of the journalism club, however, that the proposal is ill.

– This is the result of our Finnish CEO Aarne Aktan failed with the Swedish company, and now the journalists pay for it says Pröckl to the newspaper.

Talentum’s vice president Peter Edhäll emphasizes that the proposal is in a very early stage and that the goal is to reduce costs.

– the organization now proposed will mainly be cheaper – fewer people will lead to direct cost savings, he says to Dagens Media.

Talentum publishes magazines Business World, New Technology, Dagens Media, Occupational Safety, Law & amp; Agreements and History of Technology.

The negotiations between the employer and journalist club continues on Tuesday, April 19.
