Toca Boca was sold for less than 500 million – Dagens Industri

There has been speculation in the price tags of close to 2 billion. In fact Bonnier sold Toca Boca for over half a billion, according Di Digital data.

According to sources close to the deal negotiated Bonnier with several interested bidders on Toca Boca is already in the summer . Then a price tag of around 700-800 million have been discussed.

Ulrika Saxon, CEO of Bonnier Growth Media and director of Toca Boca, confirmed on Thursday for Di Digital to be engaged in dialogue with over ten potential buyers.

The actual sales to Spin Master, however, was at a level just below 500 million, according to Di uppifter Digital.

The valuation of the company was laid great emphasis on the market the company operates – that apps sold for a one-time charge and not based on recurring in-app purchases – is considered to be in decline and have limited profit potential.

in 2014 Toca Boca had sales of SEK 82 million and made an operating profit of SEK 11 million.

Di Digital has sought Ulrika Saxon, CEO of Bonnier Growth Media and Director of Toca Boca, for comment.
