Dometic sued in the United States – Business World

The law firm Hagens Berman has brought a class action against Dometic in the US accusing the company of selling a refrigerator with a defective component that makes it threatens to ignite.

More than 3,000 fires since 1997, apparently caused by refrigerators, which has resulted in more than $ 100 million in property damage and personal injury claims.

Dometic reported to have had full knowledge of the defects and damage, and should have followed it all in internal databases. Despite this, it is argued, has not taken steps to tighten remove defects or warn consumers.

The meeting wants Dometic will repair or replace the defective refrigerators and compensate consumers for loss of value of their mobile homes and boats manufacturing error brought.

the action further argues that Dometic has manipulated the recall process to conceal the real dangers and risks of the refrigerators from the authorities and consumers.

in addition, Dometic have used of “a cadre” of fire investigators, damage claims administrators, lawyers and other engineering and metallurgy experts at each report of a fire in order to turn attention away from the refrigerators as the fire cause.

Dometic has no comment to make at this time. They do however promise to return when the picture becomes clearer.
