It was in 1947 as a mail order company Ellos was founded by Olle Blomqvist in a disused dairy business. When he sold the company 40 years later had Ellos 1,500 employees.
Blomqvist has received several awards for his work, including the West Swedish Industry and Chamber of Commerce’s annual award, which is given to individuals who have made decisive contributions to the West Swedish industry. He has also been Boras Ambassador.
Olle Blomqvist was 87 years.
Ake Björsell met Olle Blomqvist by the business community. Ake Björsell ran an interior design company with his brother and was commissioned to decorate Ellos office at Skaraborgsvägen. He has since been a very close friend Olle Blomqvist.
– I talked with Olle last Wednesday and then he was aware that he was on the final stretch, so to speak. He told me that he had had an eventful life and that he was satisfied with his life. Olle has spoiled people around her and been incredibly generous, by his life, says Åke Björsell.

Olle Blomqvist grew up in Växjö and worked among others as newspaper vendors at the train station in Växjö. He later moved with his family to Boras. Olle Blomqvist is just 18 years old when Ellos registered with the Trade Register.
– He’s meant a lot to the industry but also for Boras. He is the epitome of an entrepreneur who started with two empty hands and very lot of willpower. He has förvekligat their goals, one after the other, and has been a standard bearer for Boras, says Åke Björsell.
How do you think people will remember Olle Blomqvist?
– There are not enough someone in Boras that has anything bad to say about Olle. On the contrary, there are many who admire him. They will remember him as a good and generous man. I am extremely happy to have got to be close friends with him and grateful that I have learned a lot from him.
