Smaller quakes in our latitudes is not uncommon. About 800 earthquakes recorded annually at Uppsala University.
– In the Skellefteå area tend to be about 10 to 15 earthquakes a year, said Reynir Bödvardsson at seismological Institute.
According to the Institute of Seismology felt the quake most likely in Skellefteå and Burträsk area. The quake measured at between 2 and 2.5 on the Richter scale. The cause of the quake’s movements between continental plates or inside in one of the plates.

The earthquake has been downgraded to 4.2, according to the CSME.
the depth was 10 kilometers and must have occurred 22.55. It must also have passed the Finnish side of the Gulf of Bothnia.
