American shipping giant FedEx has put the shovel in the ground for its new facility at Kastrup. It will be the workplace for approximately 120 people when completed by the end of next year.
When the count Fedex sorting 11,500 packages per day in the 8000 square meter building will also serve 18 FedEx Express -flygningar and 170 truck movements per week.
Fedex establishment at Kastrup means a boost for the airport as a freight center. The past three years have cargo flights increased by 16 percent, said Thomas Woldeby, CEO at Kastrup in a comment to FedEx’s continued expansion in the Nordic region and Europe.
Kastrup plant is the eighth station in the Nordic countries and the hundredth in Europe since 2011. It will act as a hub for inbound and outbound shipments to Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
