Winning ticket for risk-averse electricity customers – Swedish Dagbladet

Winning ticket for risk-averse electricity customers – Swedish Dagbladet

Nine thousand-that is what a homeowner with an annual consumption of 20,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) and variable electricity prices have saved over the past three years compared with those who had settled electricity contracts, according elbytarsajten Elskling.

– The winters were not as cold as it was feared in the fall, and nuclear power has worked better than we expected. Therefore, those who dared to take risks and bet on variable price earned it, says Faraz Azima, president of Elskling.

What is a wise tactic for the future are, however, difficult to predict, under Faraz Azima.

– It is impossible to know for a consumer. Many value the security of knowing their electricity in advance, and for them is the choice given, says Faraz Azima, who has moveable electricity contracts.

But maybe it’s position even for the more risk-averse to unlock the electricity price now . The moving price and market expectations of future price developments is now at about the same level, around 35 cents per kWh, which can provide preferential fixed price contracts.

– Last year, customers consider the price difference between variable and fixed price – it cost a little more to take out fixed – but this year they will not pay any extra premium.
