Now, the red-green duo Magdalena Andersson and Per Bo take over the heavy Treasury after popular Finance Minister Anders Borg .
– last I worked in the Cabinet Office, I had an ecologist in the next room, we used to have very nice together, says Magdalena Andersson.
It’s only been a day since the last political officials from Alliance government moved out of the Treasury. Their boss, Finance Minister Anders Borg (M), during his years as a minister has enjoyed high approval ratings among the Swedish people and has been named Europe’s best finance minister.
But now the new name to take over responsibility for the coins in Sweden. The new finance minister Magdalena Andersson (S) has the main responsibility. With him she Per Bo (MP) who has the post of Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs.
“Competence Finance”
This is the first time ever that MP ports in office and the first time that S admits a green minister on the tongue Treasury. Andersson and Bo have the past few weeks negotiated before the formation of the coalition government.
But their common history goes back further than that. Already during Göran Persson’s (S) time as Prime Minister, when several ecologists and leftists were admitted in government offices, working the two together, including in the negotiations concerning the congestion charges in Stockholm.

– There is a very competent finance minister as Sweden now get. It feels like a great security and we work very well together. We will continue to do over the next four years, says Per Bo.
Even Andersson celebrates the chemistry between them.
– It is important to have confidence and trust in each other, that there is confidence in the ground. So that you can have respect for each different starting points. There is obviously a great advantage that we have such a good relationship.
“I’m worried”
She believes that the green, just like S, understands the importance of stability and sound public finances.
– They have the same view of what they have on the environment, that we should not leave behind large debts to the next generation.
Finance Magdalena Andersson believes that it will be understood that the the new masters of the hill at the Treasury Department.
– I am concerned that for the third time in the modern era leaves behind finances with deficits. Now I get a macro forecast, then we’ll get started with the budget. There are jobs, schools and the environment is top of the agenda. And to keep order on the state’s finances.
