Airbus is being investigated for fraud – Västerbotten Courier

The British Serious Fraud Office Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has launched a criminal investigation into alleged fraud and corruption related to the sale of passenger planes from Airbus, said the aircraft manufacturer.

Earlier this year, British authorities stopped issuing export loans to Airbus, citing deficiencies in the way Airbus has reported how to use intermediaries in the sale of aircraft. UK Export Finance reported since the alleged shortcomings to SFO.

In a statement, says Airbus, the company has been informed of suspicions as to touch “third party consultants,” and to cooperate in the investigation.

Even French and German authorities have stopped issuing export loans to Airbus. The credits are used as an aid to airlines with limited cash.
