The euro countries will today try to find solutions to the Greek debt crisis at the two meetings in Brussels.
Eurozone finance ministers are meeting this afternoon and the euro countries’ Heads of State and Government of the night.
Yesterday, stated Greek government sources that Greece will present its own proposal in Brussels. Greece is represented by the new finance minister Euklidis Tsakalotos.
Finland Grekandslinje discussed this morning in EU Affairs Committee and in the afternoon in the Grand Committee. 61 per cent of Greeks voted against the lenders’ conditions in a referendum on Sunday.
The United States and Japan calls on the Eurogroup and Greece to seek a rapid solution. US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew stressed that the United States expects that Greece and the other euro countries quickly resume negotiations. He called for an agreement that enables Greece to continue in the Monetary Union.
