Instagram, with more than 500 million users, is launching a feature that allows photos and movies can disappear after one day.
The purpose of Instagram Stories, as the feature is called, is that the sender should be able to share their experiences in the form of a slide show. But the receivers can not “like” or comment on a picture, just send a message directly to the sender.
This marks a Facebook-owned Instagram compete with Snapchat, which has a similar feature that allows messages automatically disappear shortly after the recipient has seen them.
Message service, with over 100 million users, however, introduced the “Memories” in July, which makes it possible to store and share content. The new feature makes it easier to compete with other social networks, like Facebook.
