Nokian has cheated with tire testing – Expressen

A scandal shakes the Finnish automobile industry.

the prized tire manufacturer Nokian Tyres has for many years cheated by the results of tire tests.

They have sent specially produced tires for tests – tires never intended to produce.

It is the Finnish magazine Kauppalehti today disclosed the scandal of the rigged tire tests.

Thanks to the improved tires, delivered directly by Nokian Tyres stock, the company has won many tests and praised. But they praised the tires has never been in production and never intended for it either. Suspicion about cheating arose when the German Automobile ADAC tested Nokian tires, which had been purchased in stores. In the test fared Nokian Tyres only mediocre.

The newspaper Kauppalehti also builds its disclosure of e-mail that has been circulating among the Nokian Tyres’ personnel.

Cheating does not exist today, according to Nokian

the success of the tests have been very good for the Nokian Tyres share and email options that company leaders awarded. The company’s share price increased tenfold during the last CEO Kim Grahn time. He retired in 2014.

According to Nokian Tyres’ current CEO, Ari Lehtoranta, tampers no longer the company with the test results.

– Nowadays buying media houses tires in shops and not by the manufacturers, says Ari Lehtoranta, to Kauppalehti.

Nokian Tyres has its base in the Finnish town of Nokia. Their tires are designed for harsh northern conditions with snow, heavy rain and a coarser type of asphalt than that found on the continent.

The company’s core market is – except for Finland – Sweden and Norway. Production of tires takes place in Finland and in Russia.

Nokian was part of Nokia Corporation until 1988. As it is an independent company under the name Nokian.
