2016-02-18 14:51
STOCKHOLM (AFX) The overall Swedish public sector targets a requirement for government compensation for the work of ID checks on trains, buses and ferries between Denmark and Sweden.
In total, the carriers concerned have had the additional costs of at least SEK 5.4 million since the work to prepare for and carry out ID checks.
“We believe it is fundamentally the job of the police and customs to check the identity of people traveling across the border. Therefore, we demand compensation, “says Pia Berglund, CEO Swedish Maritime is the trade association for the Swedish shipping companies both in traffic both in and outside Sweden, in a press release.
