US stock markets ended the week up. Telecom companies led the upturn, while the industrial giants like General Electric and Honeywell underperformed.
GE’s stock fell 1.8 percent since the industrial conglomerate reported declining demand for products for the transport and the oil sector. Software company Microsoft shares rose 1.4 percent after its strong interim report earlier this week. Although a number of other telecom companies lifted.
The Dow Jones industrial index rose 0.3 percent, while the Nasdaq composite index rose 0.5 percent. S & amp; P 500 climbed 0.5 percent.
