Sued for large fire in Västmanland – Västerbotten Courier

The forestry company Stora Enso Wood sued for 277 million crowns for the major forest fire in Västmanland summer of 2014. It reports Swedish Television News.

Behind the lawsuits is Dalarna insurance companies and Länsförsäkringar Bergslagen. The companies claim that Stora Enso made itself liable for damages through breach of the Environmental Code.

According to the lawsuit fire was caused by sparks from a ground heater. Although the machine was run and owned by a contractor believes the insurance companies that Stora Enso should be held responsible.

Is the process is not the way of the insurance companies in the Land and Environment Court in Nacka, the company will instead require Stora Enso for damages in the District Court in Falun.
