The hamburger chain McDonald’s sales fell by 3.5 percent in the second quarter to 6.3 billion dollars, equivalent to SEK 54.5 billion.
Sales the chain’s established restaurants increased less than expected. In the US, sales growth at restaurants that have been open for at least 13 months 1.8 percent. Economists had on average expected an increase of 3.2 percent, according to a survey from analyst firm Consensus Metrix.
The sale of the chain’s restaurants in other countries also rose less than expected.
