Regrets that the union walked out of the conflict “- Swedish Dagbladet

The management of SAS has primarily tried to get a new contract easier. In addition, it wanted to get pilots to work more in the summer when many people want to fly. SAS has around 30 percent more passengers in the summer than in the winter.

According to Rickard Gustafson is one now from an agreement on the 230 pages that regulated everything in detail and loaded during the year after year. The new agreement will be on for 40 pages.

– With this agreement, we leave a 60-year history behind us. We get a new modern contract that gives the pilots job security while becoming more agile and flexible, says Rickard Gustafson.

– This agreement means that we can both meet the tough global competition and to safeguard the Scandinavian model. The agreement strengthens our competitiveness and enables us to see what further destinations we are flying to.

“I really regret that we have a specialist who decided to go out into conflict instead. “

Rickard Gustafson, CEO, SAS

What concrete changes in the agreement may lead to?

– When we are going to expand our intercontinental operations, we can now do so on the same conditions as our competitors. This applies, for example, how many hours pilots should work and how many they will be in the cockpit.

What does the new agreement financially for SAS?

– It is too early to say. We shall return to it.

Have the Swedish pilots received the same agreement the Danish and one of the two Norwegian unions received?

– It is in basically the same agreement.

But one of the Norwegian unions have not joined but are out on strike.

– I really regret that we have a compartments that have chosen to go out into conflict instead. Now 80 percent of our pilots have a new contract, it is quite natural that the rest receive a similar agreement, says Rickard Gustafson.
