Fund charges down to record low – Private Businesses

AMF Fonder has mapped fund contributions in eight years. The latest report shows that fees fell last year to the lowest level during the measurement period. For the first time dropped the charges on all four fund categories.

The clearest trend is equity funds, where fees fell for the third consecutive year.

– The charges continue downward for equity funds is likely to have two explanations. The most important is the growing interest in index funds, which generally have significantly lower fees than actively managed funds. The fact that the investor can buy an index fund with a management fee of between zero and 0.4 percent, likely to contribute to a downward pressure on the generally considerably more expensive, actively managed funds, says Gunilla Nyström , President of AMF Funds , in a statement.

For mixed funds broken a multi-year rising trend of rising fees. Fund category accounted for 42 per cent of new savings during the year.
