The Foreign Ministry is investigating new allegations of suspected cronyism and internal criticism silenced within democratic organization Idea.

It is the former communications manager Susan Wood who sounded the alarm about what she sees as serious abuses. She tells the Daily News that she was fired in April when she refused to endorse a bill of 26 000 SEK from a consultant.

The consultant, who had been handpicked by Ideas General Secretary, Belgium’s former Prime Minister Yves Leterme, had almost no done nothing, according to Susan Wood.

To become a whistle-blower’s probably the only way to make the misuse of money in the Idea known, and to stop it, she says to DN.

Sweden Ideas is the largest contributor. The international organization to promote democracy in the world has several times previously been featured, among other things, high executive pay and generous benefits.
