Secret menu for those who dare question – Swedish Dagbladet

Secret menu for those who dare question – Swedish Dagbladet

In the United States, the competition got fast food chains that do their best to meet customers’ special orders. It has led to hundreds of “secret menus” appeared in social media. Some have become so established that they got their own name. The site HacktheMenu.com lists the “secret” option with extra meat stock, sauces or unexpected combinations.

Hampus Knutsson, press manager at McDonalds in Sweden, says that special orders are commonplace at the chain’s restaurants.

– To dip the fries in ice cream is of course a classic, just like having pepper in ketchup. Then there are, for example chili cheeseburger that I know several like, a cheesburgare with chili cheese tops.

The next one Swedish order with their own names as Hampus Knutsson can think of is Natural Burgers, a hamburger with bread and meat and nothing more. At McDonald’s twitter account is also the hashtag #HackDonalds where the company and the guests put up tips on how to vary different things from the menu.

Max are products that started as special requests from customers, who then made it onto the menu says Christoffer Bergfors, vice president and head of product development. One example is the Bure burger with gurkmajonnäs and regular dressing.

– Skellefteå were two guys from Burea who used to serve burgers in a special way to his friends. When they were not there, people could ask to hamburger as they used to do it. Then it spread to Luleå and Piteå.

Bure burger and northern Cheese , you can only get from Umeå and north where the restaurants have special ingredient gurkmajonnäs. But even the south, there are products that can be requested, although not on the menu, as GI chicken and Low-carb chicken.

– Then there Ultimate Cheeseburger, which we removed from the menus but still there are people who want it. If you say Ultimate Cheese to the staff, they know how to do it.

The only thing that sets the limits are your imagination and the ingredients available at home. When Christoffer Bergfors was a restaurant manager in Solna, he had a guest who wanted to have three 150-gram burger in a bread.

– Want guests to have it so they can get it.
