The mood among German consumers falls, according to an index from research firm GFK, weighed down by concerns about the economic impact of the current geopolitical crises in Ukraine and the Middle East. Consumer indicator fell to 8.3 in October from 8.6 in September.
“Consumers’ view is that the ongoing geopolitical tensions now also threatens to affect the German economy, and it has led to a decline in optimism “writes GFK in a statement.
GfK consumer indicator is based on a survey of about 2,000 people.
