Sweden's economy better than expected – Swedish Radio

The Swedish growth in the second quarter was 2.6 percent, according to revised figures from Statistics Sweden, SCB.

That compares with an average forecast among analysts of 1.9 percent growth, according to a Reuters poll.

SCB writes in a press release that household consumption expenditure and gross fixed capital formation contributed most to the development.

consumption rose by 3.2 percent, while gross fixed investment – largely increased housing investment – rose by 3.7 per cent.

For public consumption however, it became only an increase of 0.8 percent, most of which came from the municipalities.

In the first quarter of this year, growth of 1.7 per cent, according to Statistics Sweden.
