Falkengren, the 52-year-old the head of one of Sweden’s four major banks, replacing last year’s Nordea chief Christian Clausen from the post of Chairman of the Bank Board of the Association.
She began her career at SEB as summer substitute teachers at a bank branch, and returned a few years later with a degree from Stockholm University.
She climbed first to the post of Global Head of Trading and then became Head of SEB Merchant Banking before her in 2005, she took over as CEO.
Falkengren also directorships security group Securitas and sitting in on the board of the German automotive giant Volkswagen.
