Comprehensive IT failure at SAS – Västerbotten Courier

Comprehensive IT failure at SAS – Västerbotten Courier

First, a completely dead SAS site for almost one day. Then went out and woke up the website in turn. IT wreckage between Monday and Tuesday made it harder for the company’s travelers to check-in.

The website went out the first time at 15 o’clock on Monday. During Tuesday morning was, however, corrected the error although it remained sluggish during the day, according to Henrik Edström, press officer at SAS. He explains that the error occurred when a provider would establish a new feature on the site.

– It took a long time to resolve, and we apologize to our customers who are not able to book or check in via website.

In July, the company was subjected to a so-called DDoS attack, when a large amount of traffic sent to overwhelm the system. When the site was down, but otherwise such problems unusual, announces SAS.

At Arlanda airport in Stockholm are not aware of problems with travelers, for example, have not been able to log in via the web.

– The traffic has proceeded normally. There are mealy people caught up here yesterday and was out in a little better time, says Åsa Öhman at the press office at Arlanda airport operator.
