The current contract between SAS and the pilots’ unions in Denmark, Norway and Sweden expires today, Wednesday.

“Together with Danish Pilot Association, today we have taken a big step forward and has entered into an agreement that reflects SAS and today’s competitive environment,” commented CEO Rickard Gustafson.

Essentially, the new agreement that SAS can act to market faster and better aligning production to seasonal variations. The new agreement covers 40 pages, a significant reduction compared to the earlier of 238. The new agreement runs for two years and covers about a third of the SAS pilots.

But there no new contract in place with the Swedish and Norwegian pilots.

“The current agreements is extended while negotiations are ongoing, but no longer than 1 June,” said Trine Kromann, Press Officer at SAS, to Direkt.

She described the talks as constructive and does not see any imminent threat of strikes.
