The family was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee model year 1999 which was hit from behind, causing Jeep’s gas tank to leak and the car to catch fire.
A US jury ruled that Chrysler had acted with “negligence and contempt for human life in the design and sale” of their Jeep Grand Cherokee and ruled that the company was guilty of the boy’s death.
In June 2013 received the Chrysler recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee- cars after suspected problems with the gas tank of the cars.
Chrysler is a part of the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
