Jason Guidi, North America director of product writes to all merchants in the US and Canada to all seven-seat XC90 available in shops must “be quarantined and not made available for customer delivery” until the fault is corrected, according to Autoblog.

The reason is a problem with the airbag, the so-called side-impact curtain in the path of a panel when the collision protection should be blown up.

This in turn means that passengers in the back of the car is less well protected.

What are the risks for those driving around with error
