It is the site Wine-searcher which listed the world’s 50 most expensive wines, from prices of around seven million different wines of close to 55 000 wine merchants and producers worldwide. As many as 40 of the 50 most expensive wines come from Burgundy, and only five are non French – four German and an American wine.
Richebourg Grand Cru created by renowned winemaker Henri Jayer, who died at the age of 84 in 2006 . He steals also for himself third place, with Cros-Parantoux Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru of just over 77 000 bottle.
Romanée-Conti, the most famous wine from Burgundy, came second with close to 117,000 crowns.
