Skelleftebor coils down over ten million snusprillor each year – the municipality of … – Norra Västerbotten

Around 10 400 000 snusprillor flushed down in the toilets in Skellefteå each year, according to the municipality, which now hope to be able to get to a change in the behavior.

According to the trade association the Swedish water, snus is Sweden’s most common fulspolning. Every day flushes the swedes down around four million pouches in the toilets, which creates strain on the treatment plants.

"the treatment plant is not built to take care of hazardous substances, such as cadmium from snus and snuff. Cadmium is therefore a risk that eventually end up being in the great outdoors," said Anna Linusson, ceo of the Swedish Water, in a press release.

Snus should always be disposed as förbränningsbara garbage, because it contains the environmentally harmful metal cadmium, which is not material does not decompose in nature.

Skellefteå snus users fulspolar down 29 000 pouches in the toilets each day, which equates to approximately 10.5 million pouches, or 8.3 tonnes per year, according to Skellefteå municipality.
