H & M advises against Bangladesh trips – Västerbotten Courier

Her & amp; Mauritz advises its staff not to travel to Bangladesh if it is not absolutely necessary after the weekend’s terrorist attacks in the capital, Dhaka.

“We have security measures in order to ensure our employees’ safety. There are no plans to change our business in place, but we are following developments closely, “says H & amp; M in a statement.

Clothing company has two offices in Bangladesh – one in the capital Dhaka and one of the country’s second largest city Chittagong – according to its website. How many people working in the offices is unclear.

Also other clothing chains have taken steps to ensure its employees’ safety. Japanese Uniqlo has invited ten Japanese employees in Bangladesh not to leave their homes until they receive further notice. All trips to the country that are not necessary has been set.

At least 22 people were killed in the hostage drama at a restaurant over the weekend, including seven Japanese citizens.
