V: Government loans for residential construction

The Left wants the state provides concessional loans to property owners to speed up the construction of rental units. This proposal is before the conversation about housing policy that the government invited to.
This is our way of saying to the government that now requires more political action. It is not enough duttande around regulations, says Nooshi Dadgostar, the Left Party’s housing policy spokesperson, told Dagens Nyheter.
The party wants the state using their possibilities to borrow at record low interest rates. The money will then be lent to property owners, both private and public. The loan will cover 25 percent of the investment costs.
An annual borrowing of 25 billion would result in 50,000 new rental units, according to estimates from the Parliamentary Research Service.
Since the money to be paid back means it eventually no cost to the government, says V.
