The average was the eleventh minute, we are interrupted by something at work. Especially in open offices can work that requires concentration to stand back, according to a new study by the office furniture company Steelcase.
– What was startling was how extremely big the problem is. It’s a bit like if you were living together with your grandparents, parents and children in the same room, says the company’s research managers Zoe Humphries to the Daily News.
The study is based on a poll conducted by Ipsos where 10 500 employees in 14 countries participated. 85 percent said they can not concentrate on their work and only 11 percent said they were very satisfied with their working environment. The latter group had also easy to concentrate; they felt calm and was able to work in groups without being interrupted.
