America’s 10 highest-paid CEOs – Business Week

The Wall Street Journal looked at the link between US CEO pay and how well their businesses evolve.

Many US CEOs have a strong link between pay and how well their businesses evolve. But it is not for everyone, a review Wall Street Journal made.

The list of CEOs of the companies that provided the highest return to shareholders in 2014 topped by pharmacy chain Rite Aids CEO John T. Smedley. Rite Aids return to shareholders during the year amounted to 292 percent, while John T. Smedleys salary increased by cautious 6.5 per cent to 8.3 million.

Two other companies in return peak, semiconductor company Micron Technology and Southwest Airlines, increased the CEO’s salary by 66 and 24 percent respectively.

The companies that yielded the worst, the construction company Chicago Bridge & amp; Iron and oil services company Transocean, has in the first case reduced the president’s salary by 2.9 percent and in the second case raised it by 2.2 percent.

The list of CEO salaries of the 300 companies Wall Street Journal examined topped by the telecommunications and cable television operator Liberty Global’s Michael T. Fries, which in 2014 increased their salary by 139 percent to $ 112 million.
