2100 jobs will disappear at Ericsson – Swedish Radio

The telecom company Ericsson are cutting 2,100 services in Sweden. It is clear then the details of the savings program presented in March are completed, and the trade negotiations.

Helena Norrman is Ericsson’s communications director.

– Today, now that we’re done with individual notice to all locations in Sweden so we can conclude that there are just over 2100 services. It’s means that about 1 700 people leaving Ericsson, she says.

Where do they now may leave Ericsson?

– The notice included seven varieties and the largest single destination is Stockholm, and it is also where we have most employees, since it is in Katrineholm, Boras, Gothenburg, Kumla, Lindköping and Karlskrona, says Norrman.

It was in March Ericsson came with the shock and 2 200 employees were issued around Sweden, now then, it becomes slightly less, 2 100 jobs will disappear and that means 1,700 employees will stop at Ericsson. Most words in Stockholm, but the hardest hit Katrineholm where the business is closed down completely.

These cuts are part of the savings program at a total of nine billion by Ericsson added to cope with the growing competition, says Helena Norrman .

– We are undergoing a very strong shift in our industry. It is a major technological development, there are various sectors that come together and it’s a big change in terms of our customers and our competitors, she says.
