Fire-fighters’ National Association wanted a four-year contract, including better working hours and a 15 percent wage increase for the country’s approximately 10,000 part-time firefighters, that is, about two-thirds of the total number. “The country’s part-time firefighters tolerates no longer to be treated worse than others,” the union said in a statement.

Employers Organisation’s counter offer was one year and 2.27 per cent wage increase. The firemen notice was listed industrial actions as follows:

• Blockade of any kind of service on time outside the regular contingency schedule.

• Blockade against the exercises on time outside the regular contingency schedule.

• Blockade of equipment maintenance.
From the blockade excluded:
a. Equipment maintenance of firemen personal safety equipment
b. Equipment maintenance that before this notice is scheduled for standby time.

• Blockade against the withdrawal of the hose used in the rescue mission.
a. The cars must always be reset to clear emergency condition.

• blockade of all work except rescue missions and life-saving medical mission.
