HSBC is expected to lay off up to 20 000 – Swedish Dagbladet

According to the data expected HSBC CEO Stuart Gulliver communicate a revised target for staff reductions to 2017 at an investor day on Tuesday.

The exact figure for cutbacks is unclear, but according to the sources, it’s probably about 10,000-20,000 jobs.

Probably the effect of HSBC’s sold businesses in Brazil and Turkey also excluded from the target figure.

HSBC had 258,000 employees at the end of last year.
