Norwegians are buying less in cross-border trade – the Swedish newspaper svenska Dagbladet

During the same period in went the number of day trips down by 7 percent, from 7.9 million trips 7.4 million.

“It’s gratifying to cross-border trade shows a declining trend,” says Ingvill Størksen, at the Norwegian retailers ‘ trade association of Timber.

Many norwegians go to, for example, Strömstad, Eda and Årjäng in order to buy food, tobacco and alcoholic beverages which are cheaper on the Swedish side. But there is also some cross-border shopping to Finland and Russia at the nordösterut in Norway.
