Ingves: We live dangerously – Svenska Dagbladet

But the economy has large omvärldsberoende.

“The low interest rates abroad spills over on us and is something that Swedish monetary policy must relate to”, said mr Ingves, in a press release.

He reiterates the concern with the low interest rates at the same time as household debt continues to increase.

“In that respect, we live in Sweden dangerous,” says mr Ingves.

“For that we shall have a stable economic development in the longer term is needed, therefore, measures from other policy areas that constrain growth in household debt”, he continues.

Stefan Ingves radar up a number of measures to manage the risks associated with household indebtedness, such as ränteavdraget, hyressättningssystemet, housing construction, etc. He points out that so far the measures have only taken a view on new loans, not the entire portfolio.

– This means that it will take a very long time to deal with this, ” says mr Ingves.
