the Company calls it an attack of a "state-sponsored actor". The attack on Yahoo is probably the most comprehensive as any companies have been exposed to so far. The account information must have been stolen as early as 2014, but for some reason, Yahoo has not informed about it until now.

The american mobile operator Verizon put a bid on the assets and liabilities in Yahoo worth $ 4.8 billion. It is unclear if the exposure of the säkerhetsintrånget will affect the transaction which is scheduled to end next week.
