Bill Gates, and 19 other billionaires with a combined wealth at 170 billion dollars, to invest in companies that invest in clean energy.
Together, the miljardärerna based investment company Breakthrough Energy Ventures, BEV, that should add at least a billion dollars in the nest egg during a 20-year period, reports Bloomberg.com
"Our goal is to build businesses that help to deliver the next generation of reliable, affordable and emission-free energy to the world," said Bill Gates to Bloomberg.
the Plan is to help companies that are in an early stage of their product development by taking ideas from the lab to the market. Electricity generation, energy storage, transport, industrial processes, agriculture, and energy efficiency are some of the areas that the company can invest in.
In the network are also included, among others, Facebookgrundaren Mark Zuckerberg and alibaba’s founder Jack Ma.
A billion dollars is just the beginning. BEV expects to get more investors with the time and adding considerably more money.
