Haldex launches new JV in electromechanical brakes – evertiq.se

Haldex and Zhejiang VIE Science Technology Co., Ltd. will form a joint venture to develop, produce and sell electromechanical brake systems for commercial vehicles. Initial focus is on the electric bus market in China.

Haldex contract now with Zhejiang VIE Science and Technology Co. to set up a JV company in electromechanical brakes. The parties will hold 50 percent each. The company will operate under the name Haldex VIE (China) Electro Mechanical Brake Systems Co., Ltd. and be based in Shanghai, China.

The joint venture will benefit from Haldex early development of electromechanical brake system, which is not yet launched in the market, and VIEs position and customer base in China. Both parties will contribute the necessary financial and technical resources to launch electromechanical brake system on the commercial vehicle market.

Initially, the focus will be on the growing electric bus market in China. The joint venture expects revenues from 2020 onwards.

The joint venture is subject to regulatory approval. The joint venture has the right to distribute and sell products developed by the joint venture in Asia.
