Greece must hold a referendum on an agreement with lenders – Aftonbladet

The Greek people will have their say on the agreement with the lenders, announced Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in a televised address late on Friday evening.

On July 5 there will be a referendum in Greece. Then the voters to vote yes or no to the agreement with international lenders, as Greek state owes money.

– The proposals, which clearly violates European rules and the fundamental right to work, equality and dignity shows that the purpose of some partners and institutions is not a feasible arrangement for all parties, but possibly förudmjukelsen of a whole people, says Alexis Tsipras, according to Reuters.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras came with the announcement in a televised speech, which followed an urgent meeting with the government.

– We will all vote against, said the Greek Minister of Energy on the way out of the meeting, according to local media.
