When the big air show in Paris drew to a close fit American Boeing and European Airbus as usual to count up how many orders for new planes they brought in.
This time the victory went to Airbus with orders for 421 planes while Boeing had to settle for 331 planes. Added to this are the order of 250 smaller planes that went to other manufacturers.
Overall, it is still fewer planes sold now than during the previous air show in Farnborough, UK, a year ago. When did the manufacturers together in over 1 200 orders for new planes.
Among the clients dominate Asian airlines. They account for two out of three ordered plan, according to a survey that air site Flight Global has done.
There is a direct reflection that it is precisely in Asia that air travel is expected to increase rapidly in the coming years, both as a result of a general improvement of living standards and the Group earners with interest in traveling becomes larger.
Both Airbus and Boeing could count some really large orders. Boeing received an order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8, manufacturer’s new plan that will be used for flights in Europe. Clients were aircraft leasing company Aercap.
At the very last moment countered Airbus with an order for 110 planes from European low cost carrier Wizz Air. The order concerned the A321 neo, also a plane, for example, is used for flights within Europe.
The manufacturers have already orders for new planes lying for nine years of production. To meet the ever increasing demand they try now to increase production rate and Airbus reiterated that the aim to increase production of A320 planes from the current 42 months to 50 planes a month in 2017.
The aim is then to the end 2018 could increase to 60 or even 63 plane month. Though it will put great pressure on both the company and all subcontractors and concerns are great for that in practice it should not go.
