Germany’s largest trade union, IG Metall, has agreed a new collective agreement that provides 700,000 metalworkers and electricians a raise of 4.8 percent in 21 months.
Growth of earnings made in two stages, by 2.8 per cent in July this year and 2 percent in April 2017.
the agreement, which applies only North Rhine-Westphalia, should have been reached by 1:14 hours long ALL-NIGHT NEGOTIATIONS. It is also expected to become the benchmark for other parts of Germany, which means that it affects wages for 3.8 million employees at German industrial giants like Siemens, Thyssen Krupp and Daimler.
