Magdalena Andersson (S) commenced prognosdragning at the Swedish government offices Rosenbad to paint a rosy picture of the situation for the Swedish economy.

She struck his chest and said that two years in a row, she has been able to report a surplus of around ten billion.

– It means that we have two years with me as minister of finance and two years with a surplus in the public finances.

the minister of Finance said that above all, it has three explanations:

– the Government has a clear jobbfokus with 120 000 more employed persons and decreasing unemployment, we have a systematic cost management, for example, for health insurance and unaccompanied refugee children, and we are a tight and responsible fiscal policy, pointed out Andersson.

She stated that the costs for sick leave and migration is lower than previously estimated, and also pointed out that the unemployment rate is projected to land at 6.2 per cent in 2020, the year the government believes that Sweden will reach the EU’s lowest unemployment rate.

Wedges worries

Andersson said, however, that there is still major challenges, including the development of increasing inequalities.

She pointed out that it therefore introduces a new element in the forecast of the Swedish economy that ministry of finance presents on Tuesday.

To Aftonbladet, ” she said before the presentation that the government will start to follow the development of the gaps.

– We will show the forecasts of income growth. The trend we are seeing with increasing inequalities, is totally unacceptable. It will pull apart people in our country, it pulls apart the country and the city, it will put us further away from each other, ” says Magdalena Andersson.

She believes that the increase in the disparities also threaten the economy in a larger perspective. The new element of the forecast should be a way to put the focus on it.

Trump is a financial risk

Magdalena Andersson got the issues on which the economic risks she looks. When it comes to the Swedish economy, it is mainly about household debt and housing market developments”, said she.

Outside the borders of Sweden, it is about things like the choice of Donald Trump as AMERICA’s next president and the Uk’s decision to leave the EUROPEAN union.

– The trade policies which Trump will engage in as the president affects the Swedish companies. Even brexit affect. We do see some continuing uncertainty within the euro area. For some banks is bad loans left, and government debt is high in the euro area, ” says Andersson.

Kommunpengarna distributed

The ten billion that municipalities and county councils may, as a compensation for the reception of asylum seekers in the year is now färdigfördelade, according to Andersson. Some municipalities get more money than what has previously been stated, since they received more newcomers than what was said from the beginning. Others who received fewer get less money.
