Annika Falkengren surprised, with the news of his resignation on 16 January of this year. And now it is clear who takes over after the seasoned banker-managing director: the 42-year-old Johan Torgeby, previously one of the heads of the company’s large corporate and institutional investors.
So yesterday was Johan Torgeby the question – and at a board meeting that lasted until late afternoon the decision was made that he is the one who takes over after Annika Falkengren. The new ceo will take office on march 28.

Annika Falkengren has has worked at SEB for 30 years and been president for eleven of these. She will step down as ceo in connection with the annual general meeting on 29 march, but will remain in an advisory role until she stops at the bank in July.
