Job and banks lifted Wall Street – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

U.S. stock markets finished the trading week up, among other things, thanks to the strong jobbsiffror.

In January, was created in 227, 000 new jobs, excluding the agricultural sector, which was significantly more than the 175,000 that analysts had anticipated. The unemployment rate rose marginally and is still under 5%.

Banks was today’s big winner. President Donald Trump is preparing a deregulation of financial markets in the US and on Friday took the first step. Of the major banks such as Goldman Sachs and Citigroup lifted 4.4 and 3.2 percent, respectively.

the Dow Jones industrial index rose 0.9 per cent and was again over 20 000 points. Nasdaq’s kompositindex went up 0.5 percent while the S&P 500 rose 0.7 per cent.
