New disclosure: SCA tax planned for billions – Göteborgs-Posten

The paper from one of SCA’s mills.

In a new revelation from SVT appears that Europe’s largest private owner of woodland, the paper manufacturer SCA, tax planned for billions.

the paper manufacturer SCA has quietly sold off its internal bank for billions for himself in Holland, and through a branch in Sweden have made great interest deduction for the. The information comes from SVT.

public service broadcaster reported that the Tax Agency a few weeks ago decided in the Stockholm administrative law for the company to pay over a billion in taxes and fines because of SCA’s tax arrangements.

SVT compare the scale of the deal with the other major sales of Swedish companies – and believes that most pale in comparison.

When Volvo sold to Chinese company Geely as low price tag of 13 billion and when the Swedish game Minecraft was purchased by Microsoft the deal cost 18 billion. The price tag on SCA’s sales of the treasury SCA Finans is more expensive than the above together – closer firmly 5.195000000 euros, equivalent to 48 billion by current exchange rates.

The deal should be completed in 2004 according to SVT – but nevertheless it is not a single row of försäljningwn which is the largest in the company’s narrative discourse when SVT goes through SCA’s annual report.

– that it seems to have silenced this way … Then it’s a scandal that it has not been told and been forward, says Albin Rännar who is the spokesperson for the Swedish Shareholders’ Association to SVT.

in order to afford to finance internal purchase SCA took up large loans and paid on the way interest to themselves. A Dutch company called SCA Treasury was set up as an owner and through it they started up a branch office in Stockholm to deduct interest paid on the purchase.

– It is a form of tax schemes to avoid paying tax in Sweden says Tomas Algotsson who is head of the legal department at the Swedish Tax Agency.

SCA Treasury tried over a ten year period, 2004-2013, making interest deductions on nearly nine billion. But when the Tax Agency took its decision in December 2014 could Authority only go back five years in time why only a deduction of SEK 3.3 billion was denied. Tax Agency also wanted the SCA Treasury would pay 928 million in tax and an additional tax of 186 miljorner crowns for having provided false information to the tax authorities.

The decision was appealed by the paper manufacturer, but the Administrative Court gave a judgment of March this year tax Agency the right.

– it’s a design that suggests that the only reason is to minimize taxes incorrectly, which the tax office now has intervened with, say Shareholders Association spokesman Albin Rännar.

the case is not completed in the judgment. Now think Shareholders Association to pursue the matter to find out who is responsible for tax evasion.

SCA on the other hand think that the Tax Agency has been wrong and will appeal the Administrative Court’s decision to appeal.
