More foreign-born people are expected to get jobs in 2016 – Swedish Dagbladet

It writes Employment Service, AF, in its labor market forecast presented on Wednesday.

Almost the entire increase in employment is expected to occur among foreign-born, according to the Employment Service.

In the latest forecast, in December, counted Employment Service with an unemployment rate of 7.9 percent in 2015 and 7.7 percent in 2016.

The statistics are based on Statistics Sweden’s definition of open unemployment, but has a narrower age group of 16-64 years, unlike Statistics Sweden, which has 15-74.

For the group 15-74 years tracks Employment Service that employment increased by 48,000 in the year and 67 000 next year. Unemployment in this group simultaneously reduces from 7.7 percent this year to 7.4 percent next year.

The Employment Service based its forecast on GDP growth of 2.7 percent in 2015 and 3.2 percent in 2016.

The Employment Service’s employer survey shows that optimism increased among both private and public employers, compared with autumn 2014. Recruitment plans are positive and employers plan for more employees in the private and public sectors. The new jobs are emerging all over the country but the biggest job growth occurs in metropolitan regions. Outside the three metropolitan regions becomes more difficult to increase employment due to the working population weak.

Employment Service notes on the shortage of skilled labor increases in the public service sector, which risks slow employment growth. In the private sector are expected to increase slightly lack in certain industries. The gap between the qualification requirements for the available jobs and the skills of the unemployed coming years, creating matching problems.

– It is gratifying that there will be more than 110 000 jobs. But the match will be a tougher challenge when the proportion of the unemployed who have requested competencies decreases. We therefore need to intensify our contacts with employers to get a better anticipation of skills needs, says the Employment Service Director General Mikael Sjöberg.

AF notes a clearer division of labor among those with stronger position reduces unemployment quickly while groups with weaker position have difficulty finding work. The group is expected to increase to over 75 per cent of the registered unemployed in 2016.

The number of native-born of working age is also reduced, and to avoid increasing maintenance burden note AF the need for a large contribution of foreign born.

– For it to be possible to maintain an equal increase in employment over the period 2005-2014 estimates Employment Service that net immigration needs to be EUR 64 000 per year between the ages of 16-64. Net immigration is expected to exceed that level in both 2015 and 2016, providing the basis for continued strong employment growth, writes AF.

Mikael Sjöberg notes at the same time that the integration of the labor market has functioned better at recent years, mainly for post-secondary education. For the group with less education are needed, however, increased training.
